Cherbon Waters Garden Weddings and Marquee Receptions can comfortably accommodate up to 160 guests with a “round table” layout, and up to 200 guests with a “rectangular table” floor plan. We can also extend the Marquee to accomodate up to 320 guests (additional charges apply). So whether you have an intimate gathering, or a bit of a crowd, we’ve got you covered.
You have the option of booking a Ceremony only, or booking a Marquee Reception and Garden Ceremony (Garden Hire is required with Reception booking). To book your ceremony and/or Reception, simply organise a viewing appointment or contact us 0405 184 280 to discuss date availability and our range of Wedding packages.
Yes you can. If you wish to enjoy your reception at a different location, you can book your Garden Ceremony package with us. Enjoy two and a half hours exclusive and private use of the lakeside gardens and gazebo.
Cherbon Waters’ own Wedding Venue Manager will ensure your special day runs without a hitch from beginning to end.
Yes we do. In the Gazebo, we have a Bluetooth compatible sound system that will accommodate your phone/spotify device for all your entry/exit and in-between music. Inside our Marquee, we provide a complete sound system with source mixer, amplifier and inputs for your Phone/Computer, as well as a wireless microphone for speeches etc. iPhone users may require headphone jack adapter/dongle.
Absolutely! We want you to be able to add your own flavour to your special day, and make it uniquely yours. Earlier access on your wedding day (from 10am) will be granted to our Marquee by arrangement.
Cherbon Waters DOES cater for Vegetarians, Vegans and any special dietary requirements that we are notified about. Just let us know your requirements. We also have specially designed 100% Vegan Menus.
YES. Cherbon Waters is a BYO Venue. By bringing your own drinks, you are going to save thousands of dollars…but you probably don’t need us to tell you that
- Just organise your drinks (including bottled water and soft drinks) from your preferred bottle shop, and arrange for them to be delivered cold to Cherbon Waters between 8:30 and 9:30am on the morning of your wedding. Please also provide 12 bags of ice to ensure your BYO drinks remain cold. BWS at Wishart who know us well, will price match and deliver cold for free.
- We will supply glassware (wine, champagne & soft drinks) with beer served in its original bottle. Bar staff are included.
- Anything you don’t open on the night, can be taken home.
Cherbon Waters facilities are all on ground level and allow easy wheelchair access. Our Marquee has two entrance points, one with shallow steps, and the other at ground level. There is also an on-site wheelchair access toilet located adjacent to our Marquee.

Cherbon Waters has free on-site parking for all guests during your ceremony and/or reception. However, as we are also a private residence, unfortunately no vehicles are permitted to remain on site after the celebrations have concluded.
Taxi and Rideshare services are available at the end of the reception. Let them know that they can drive all the way down the driveway to the carpark. Please ensure you have booked ahead in plenty of time.
Absolutely…in fact we’re glad you asked. We’ve hosted a number of Year 12 formal functions including Canapes on the lawn, and intimate, memorable nights in our Silk-lined marquee. We’ve also helped many happy guests celebrate their significant life moments, including, birthday parties, wedding anniversaries and other intimate gatherings. Yes of Course! Children are most welcome at Cherbon Waters. Childrens meals (under 12) are provided at a discounted flat rate, and babies and toddlers not requiring a meal or seat are at no charge.
Yes! Once you’ve booked your wedding, with us, please ask us to customise a list of recommended vendors. We also offer an all inclusive Limousine, Photography and Celebrant Package for less than $2500. Please ask us about what’s included.
Due to our natural surrounds, synthetic sprinkles, rice* and confetti are not permitted at ceremonies. Real rose/flower petals are allowed – no synthetic petals.
*Exception: Rice WILL be allowed at Cultural Indian Weddings.
Yes! Feel free to add some fun to your photos with our professional “Equine model”! Available to hire for one hour including a strapper for less than $300.
You can also hire two ponies for an hour with Equestrian Centre staff who will provide escorted trail rides for children guests for less than $350.
Bands and DJ’s will setup in the Marquee prior to guests arriving in the Marquee for the Reception. Our Wedding Manager will direct you to power access and indicate where best to set up. Cherbon Waters is governed by local noise restriction laws (80 decibels outside marquee), and whilst DJ/band will be in control of their own levels, they may be requested to reduce volume and/or bass levels by our Wedding Manager to comply with local laws.
Yes we do. Our Marquee has a professional Sound system installed so no matter where you’re sitting you will hear everything just fine. We provide a Wireless Microphone for speeches and a lecturn if desired. This can be operated by our Wedding Manager or one of your own party if desired.
If you plan to have your Wedding Ceremony on our Lawn area overlooking the water, a decision will be made on the morning of your wedding day (or earlier if heavy rain is forecast) in consultation with our Wedding Manager and the Bride/Groom or their appointed representative. If rain is expected your ceremony can be setup in our Gazebo. If it’s really coming down, our Gazebo does have clear heavy duty plastic roller blinds that can be drawn around the Gazebo. If conditions are particularly inclement, canapes and drinks will be served from inside the Marquee.
If the Queensland Government invoke a Lockdown in Brisbane that directly affects your wedding date, your event can be postponed or rescheduled to a new available date, without any penalty.
If border closures affect the ability of invited guests from interstate to attend your wedding, you are able to revise your attendance numbers down, and receive an applicable refund for non-attending guests, up to five days prior to your wedding day. Alternately, you are also able to increase your numbers and pay the difference up to 3 days prior to your wedding.
